Ancestral ceremonies are performed by the Andean Shaman or Paqos from the village of Qeros. They will take you to the Temple of the Moon and you will take part in Andean spiritual ceremonies. This experience is said to grant you insights into your future and a connection to Mother Earth.
Located in one of the most remote and isolated areas of the Andean region, Q’eros is actually a combination of small villages. There are 6 main villages in the area that house approximately 700 people. Thought to be the direct descendants of the Inca, the people of Q’eros are a deeply spiritual people however do not follow any particular religion.
Their spiritual leaders are called Paqos who practice traditional Andean spiritual beliefs with a small mixture of Christian influence. The Q’eros worship Mother Earth but this may mean more broadly the cosmos or universe in general. The people practice Ayni which is the belief that one must live in balance and respect with all things, living and inanimate. They respect the balance of nature living in harmony with their surroundings which allows them to live in such a remote and harsh environment.
