Besides Machu Picchu, Cusco is also known for its mouth-watering and delectable Gastronomy. What makes our cuisine special and unique is that it´s made from locally sourced ingredients and is packed full of flavor. Famous foods range from Lomo Saltado, Cerviche, Chiruichu (special dish made around Corpus Christi in June), Caldo de Gallina (among the many soups), to the spicy Recoto Relleno. All these delicious meals can be washed down with a Chicha Morada: a purple corn drink that originates from the Andes region or Frutillada: a refreshing strawberry drink.
